Scott Bull is currently the CEO of Pace Industries. He joined the company in 1979 as a sales manager following three seasons as a quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers professional football team. In 1984 he was named Vice President of Marketing and was later promoted to President of Pace in 1993. After the acquisition of Pace by Leggett and Platt, Mr. Bull was named Executive Vice President of the Leggett and Platt Aluminum Group and Vice President of Leggett and Platt Incorporated. Throughout his 30 years with Pace/LPAG, he has been a central figure in the development of the company’s sales and marketing strategies, its core values/culture and its overall manufacturing strategies. He graduated from the University of Arkansas with a BSBA in Marketing.

Executive Director, MIT's Master of Engineering in Logistics (MLOG) Program

Dr. Chris Caplice runs the Master of Engineering in Logistics (MLOG) Program and is Executive Director of the Center for Transportation and Logistics at MIT. Prior to joining MIT, Dr. Caplice held senior management positions in supply chain consulting, product development, and professional services at several companies including Chainalytics LLC, Logistics.com, and SABRE. In 1996, Dr. Caplice earned a Ph.D. from MIT in Transportation and Logistics Systems. His dissertation, "An Optimization Based Bidding Process: A New Framework for Shipper-Carrier Relationships," won several industry awards. Dr. Caplice served five years in the Army Corps of Engineers, achieving the rank of Captain. He also obtained an M.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the Virginia Military Institute (VMI).

Bob CostelloBob Costello

American Trucking Associations (ATA)

Bob Costello is the Chief Economist and Vice President for the American Trucking Associations (ATA), the national trade association for the trucking industry. As Chief Economist, he manages all of ATA's collection, analysis and dissemination of trucking economic information. This includes several monthly trucking economic indicators, motor carrier financial and operating data, an annual freight transportation forecast, driver wage studies, weekly diesel fuel price and economic reports, in addition to a yearly trucking almanac. Mr. Costello also conducts economic analyses of proposed regulations and legislation affecting the trucking industry. He is often cited in the news media as an expert on trucking economics, including the Wall Street Journal, Business Week, CNBC, FOX Business Channel, and National Public Radio. Prior to joining ATA in 1997, he was an economist with Joel Popkin & Company in Washington D.C., an economic consulting firm that specializes in the analysis of wages, inflation, and economic trends. Mr. Costello has a master’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa and a Bachelor of Arts from Winona State University in Winona, MN.

With more than 20 years in supply chain and logistics, Ben Cubitt has a deep familiarity in the field working for consulting firms and a number of Fortune 500 companies, mainly in the in the consumer products, paper and automotive industries. His experiences have focused on supply chain management strategy, transportation management and distribution optimization. Prior to RockTenn, Mr. Cubitt was a Director in Strategy Services with Adjoined Consulting as well as a Senior Principal with Tompkins Associates, where he was responsible for the Transportation Consulting Practice at both firms. In these roles, he helped Fortune 1000 companies and leading transportation industry 3PLs to optimize their supply chain and transportation operations.

Alan Gladstone is Chairman, President, Chief Executive Officer and Owner of Anna's Linens, a value leader in fashions for the home. He is committed to making Anna's Linens a national chain of 1,000-stores and currently employs over 2,500 people throughout the US. Mr. Gladstone founded Anna’s Linens in 1988 and has grown the business into a successful 255-store chain, located in 20 states. From 1970 to 1973, he worked with Whitefront Stores through their management-training program and as buyer of domestics. From 1973 to 1983 he was Senior Vice President, General Merchandising Manager and Board Member of Three D Bed & Bath, a domestics, 100-store chain. He was President of a division of US Shoe called HomeFront, an 80-store chain from 1983 to 1986 and also worked as an independent consultant for Von's, TG&Y, and Cook United. Mr. Gladstone graduated from The University of California Irvine with a major in Economics.

Jim Glendon is the Supply Chain Director for the Sunny Delight Beverages Company. His current role includes transportation, customer service, materials management, production planning, and new initiative planning and execution. Prior to joining Sunny Delight, Mr. Glendon worked for Procter & Gamble for 31 years with assignments in manufacturing and supply chain. Together with IT, he led the systems carve out from P&G to Sunny. Mr. Glendon was the Transition Leader for integrating the Veryfine and Crystal Light acquisitions into the Sunny Delight Beverages Company. He is a graduate of the Ohio State University with a Masters in Chemical Engineering.

Adrian Gonzalez is Director of the Logistics Executive Council for the ARC Advisory Group, a user member-driven service that functions as a medium for collaboration, benchmarking, and best practice research for logistics and supply chain executives from manufacturing, retail, food & beverage, CPG and 3PL companies. During the past five years, Mr. Gonzalez has authored several strategy reports on various supply chain topics, and he has managed consulting projects for Global 1000 clients. Prior to ARC, Mr. Gonzalez held various leadership positions at Motorola, Clare, and Polaroid. His research areas of expertise include supply chain execution, performance management, transportation management, international trade, logistics networks, RFID, 3PLs, high tech, food & beverage, retail, and consumer packaged goods.

Gough Grubbs serves as the Senior Vice President of Distribution/Logistics for Stage Stores. He joined the company in 1996, following 23 years in distribution with Foley’s (May Company) and Sanger Harris (Federated Dept Stores). His primary focus has been the development of internal leadership talent and external business relationships to support the fast-growing chain. Expanding from both acquisitions and organic store openings, Stage has grown from 235 stores in 13 states in 1996 to over 760 stores covering 39 states; adding Distribution Centers in South Hill, VA and Jeffersonville, OH to the original DC in Jacksonville, TX. Future expansion plans continue to target over 1,000 stores by the year 2014. A frequent speaker at Material Handling Forums, VCF, and CSCMP, Mr. Grubbs holds a B.A. in Business Management from the University of Texas at Arlington and is a loyal University of Texas Longhorn fan.

Mr. Knight has served as Chairman of the Board for Knight Transportation since May 1999 and has served as CEO since 1993. He has been an officer and Director of the Company since 1990. From 1975 to 1984 and again from 1986 to 1990, Mr. Knight was employed by Swift Transportation where he served as Executive Vice President. He also serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the American Trucking Associations.

Jerry Moyes is Chairman, Founder and CEO of Swift Transportation Co., Inc. Mr. Moyes began hauling steel from Arizona to Los Angeles ports with one truck in 1966, forming a partnership with a steel importer called Common Market Distribution Corp., and later merging it with Swift Transportation. In 1986, he was named Chairman of the Board, President and CEO of the company. Since 1986, Mr. Moyes has helped grow Swift from a single truck to a leading company in its industry. He has also been involved in a number of other organizations, serving as vice president of the American Trucking Association and as president of the Arizona Motor Transport Association. Mr. Moyes currently serves as a board member of the Truckload Carriers Association, a Director for the Greater Phoenix Economic Council and a member of the Center for Entrepreneurship at Brigham Young University. He has served as Chairman for several other corporations, including Central Freight Lines and Central Refrigerated Transportation Service.

Dave Robbins is the Executive Vice President, Corporate Sales and Business Development at C.R. England, Inc., a Salt Lake City-based global transportation provider. By creating positive change and developing new strategies as well as being highly focused on new technologies and improved processes, he has propelled the company forward. Past job titles have included Vice President-Regional Division, President-England Logistics, Vice President-England Integrated Solutions, and Vice President-England North American (ENA) Division. During his time as President, England Logistics, Mr. Robbins changed the financial performance of England Logistics from a break-even company in 1998 to the most profitable business unit at C.R. England by 1999. As Vice President, England North American (ENA) Division, Mr. Robbins boosted the largest revenue growth seen in 13 years. In addition to his role at C.R. England, Mr. Robbins is a member of the American Frozen Food Institute and the American Association of Inside Sales Professionals. Mr. Robbins received both his BS and his MBA from the University of Utah.

Prior to joining Transplace, Steve spent four years as Executive Vice President of the Retail & Consumer Packaged Goods division of One Network Enterprises. He also served as President & CEO of Air Road Express, Executive Vice President of Product Marketing at i2 Technologies and Vice President of both Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management for Walmart. He also served as Director of Corporate Traffic, and Director of Private Fleet Administration for Wal-Mart. Prior to Walmart Steve spent 18 years in Transportation with UPS, Roadway, and Consolidated Freightways (Con-way). Via his private Supply Chain Consultancy Robinson Distribution Steve has help Fortune 500 companies in the Retail, CPG, Aerospace, and High Tech space develop and deploy winning supply chain strategies worldwide. Steve received a bachelor’s in Economics from The Ohio State University.

Tom Sanderson is Chairman & CEO of Transplace. Since 2003, Tom has led the company to substantial success and continued growth. Under Tom’s leadership, Transplace launched Consulting, International and Mexico subsidiaries, extending the company’s comprehensive services for its customers. In addition, Tom has led the company to achieve dozens of industry awards. In 2009, Transplace was awarded with the Global Logistics and Supply Chain Strategies “100 Great Supply Chain Partners” distinction for the sixth consecutive year and by Supply & Demand Chain Executive as a “Top 100” provider in supply chain transformation for the fourth consecutive year. Transplace was recognized by Inbound Logistics as a Top 10 3PL for the seventh consecutive year and honored with the EPA’s SmartWay Environmental Excellence Award for making significant contributions to protect the environment. In 2005, Sanderson implemented Lean Six Sigma achieving millions of dollars per year in savings for Transplace and its customers. Tom has a master’s in Business from Indiana University.

Martin TewariMartin Tewari

Martin Tewari is vice president of domestic sales for Con-way Truckload. In his role, Tewari is responsible for the strategic sales planning and training for all sales in the United States and Canada. With eight years of service with Con-way Truckload, he has been actively involved in expanding service offerings to its customers, including dedicated operations, regional and international services. He is responsible also for all the pricing functions and sales support. Tewari has a 19-year career in the transportation industry and prior to rejoining Con-way Truckload, he was Vice President of Sales with Roehl Transport. He has also been the Director of Sales at Con-way Truckload for the Eastern half of the United States and Canada. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario in London Ontario and a Masters of Business Administration from, the University of Manchester Business School in England. He is based out of Con-way Truckload’s headquarters in Joplin, Mo.
